Welcome to the YMCA of South Hampton Roads’ new volunteer management system, VolunteerMatters! Thank you for being part of our YMCA volunteer coaching community. Your role helps create positive, lasting experiences for the youth and families we serve. As part of our ongoing commitment to youth safety, we are using Volunteer Matters to ensure all volunteers are properly trained, credentialed, and supported. This system helps us maintain the highest level of safety for programs involving children, while also making it easier for you to stay involved. Through this platform, you can: • Complete required trainings and child protection requirements • Store and access your volunteer credentials securely • View your volunteer history • Sign up for future volunteer opportunities with ease Next Step: Please create or update your profile by May 31, 2026. To continue coaching, all requirements must be completed by this date. The process takes about 30 minutes and includes a child abuse prevention training (Foundations: Preventing Abuse in Youth Serving Organizations) designed to help you recognize and respond to potential risks, an important part of how we keep kids safe at the Y and in our community. Once your requirements are complete, you will be able to register for upcoming coaching opportunities.
