No coaching experience? No problem. The Y provides training, resources, and ongoing support so you feel confident leading your team. Whether you are a parent, student, or community member, your time and encouragement can have a lasting impact on a child’s experience. Recreational Coaches typically commit to an 8-week season, volunteering about 2 hours per week for 1-hour practices and 1-hour games. The 3-5 age group practices for 30 minutes and then plays a 30-minute game right after, usually on Saturday, for a 1-hour-per-week commitment. Volunteers must complete the required onboarding steps, including training and safety protocols, before the season begins.
