The Block Teen Cafe - Teen Volunteer

Blocker Norfolk Family YMCA

Teen volunteers will complete 15 hours of volunteer service per week at The Block Teen Café at the Blocker Norfolk Family YMCA. Volunteers will be active members of the Café team, supporting daily operations while engaging with YMCA members, teens, families, and community guests. Volunteer Service May Include: -Welcoming and engaging with YMCA members, teens, families, and guests. -Providing positive and professional customer service within the Teen Café. -Assisting with café operations, including preparing the space, organizing supplies, stocking items, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. -Supporting food and beverage service as appropriate for the volunteer role. -Assisting with Teen Café programs, activities, and special events. -Learning basic inventory, organization, and café operations. -Working alongside YMCA staff and other teen volunteers as part of a team. -Demonstrating leadership, responsibility, communication, and professionalism throughout each shift. Through this volunteer experience, teens will gain hands-on experience in customer service, teamwork, communication, leadership, and workplace readiness while contributing to a welcoming space for YMCA members and the community. Volunteer Commitment: 15 hours per week

Teen volunteers must complete all required volunteer onboarding and training before beginning service. Volunteers are expected to maintain their agreed-upon schedule, follow YMCA and Teen Café expectations, and communicate with their YMCA contact regarding absences or schedule changes.
