Summary of Volunteer Opportunity: Camp Silver Beach is seeking compassionate and qualified volunteer medical professionals to support the health, safety, and well-being of campers and staff during camp sessions. Volunteer Medical Staff provide basic healthcare services, respond to illnesses and injuries, administer medications, maintain health records, and help ensure compliance with camp health and safety policies. This role is essential in creating a safe, supportive, and positive camp experience for all participants. Essential Responsibilities: Camper & Staff Healthcare Provide first aid and basic medical care for campers and staff Assess illnesses and injuries and determine appropriate treatment or referral Respond promptly to emergencies and activate emergency procedures when necessary Monitor campers with chronic medical conditions, allergies, or special healthcare needs Medication Administration: Safely store, document, and administer medications according to camp policy Maintain accurate medication and treatment logs Communicate with parents/guardians as directed regarding medical concerns Health Records & Compliance: Maintain confidential medical records in compliance with applicable privacy standards Ensure camp adheres to ACA, state, and local health regulations Collaboration & Education: Work collaboratively with camp leadership and counselors to support camper wellness Educate staff on basic health practices, hydration, hygiene, and emergency response Promote a healthy and inclusive camp environment Camp Community Support: Participate in camp orientation and safety training Support campers in a caring, calm, and encouraging manner Help foster a positive camp experience for all participants Qualifications Preferred qualifications include: Current license or certification in a healthcare field (RN, LPN, EMT, Paramedic, MD, DO, PA, NP, etc.) Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification Experience working with children, youth, or group settings preferred Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations Physical Requirements Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations Ability to walk around camp grounds and participate in outdoor activities Ability to lift and carry basic medical supplies and equipment Time Commitment Availability for designated camp sessions, weekends, or overnight stays as assigned Participation in pre-camp orientation/training required Benefits of Volunteering Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on youth development Room and board provided during camp sessions (if applicable) Professional service hours and community impact experience Connection with a mission-driven camp community
